Broadcasting Instructor | Chaffey Community College District | Rancho Cucamonga, CA CHAFFEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT Invites applications for: INSTRUCTOR, BROADCASTING Application deadline: Wednesday, April 29, 2009 4:00 PM (Filling of this position is contingent upon funding) POSITION DESCRIPTION This is a full-time, tenure track broadcasting instructor position in the School of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts. Under the direction of the Dean, the assignment for the full-service week will be to teach any and all broadcasting courses offered by the department including (but not limited to) multi-camera and single camera television production and survey/history of broadcasting and electronic media. The ideal candidate would also possess the background to teach (or has taught) courses in the survey of world cinema and survey of American cinema. Although the assignment is initially at the Rancho Campus, transfers to Fontana or Chino may be possible per contract and need.SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENTThis assignment includes (but is not limited to) the following:• Instruct classes in broadcasting and related subjects (such as cinema) in accordance with the established course outlines of record. This includes organizing instruction towards achieving those objectives; participating in the selection of textbooks and other materials; instructing through lecture, hands-on laboratory, discussion, demonstrations, etc.; conferring with students as appropriate; assigning grades; and providing a safe and positive classroom environment conducive to effective learning.• Maintain professional and ethical standards.• Remain current in all subject matter areas and in the techniques of effective instruction.• Participate in the development, assessment, and evaluation process of student learning outcomes.• Work effectively with unique constituent groups such as business leaders, accreditation organizations, advisory board committees, and others.• Participate in department and committee work, curriculum and program development, community outreach, tutorial center, department website development, and other duties necessary for the benefit of the students, the college, the community, and the profession. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Based upon the minimum and/or desirable qualifications stated in this position announcement, the initial salary placement range is $55,458 to $86,566 (Fall 2009 salary schedule). Placement is based on the regular full-time faculty salary schedule and is dependent upon verification of relevant experience and coursework from a regional or nationally accredited institution of higher learning. In addition, Success Centers, both on- and off-campus, provide the community with resource centers for the development of basic skills.
